Oh, you remind me of the babe…
Huzzah! Hopefully I’ll think of something to make, because I really want to program. If I can’t think of anything to make in Flash, then maybe I’ll add stuff to the site, and if I can’t think of anything for that, then I’ll just watch TV.
So you all (or you nil) know where I was right? Oahu, right! And you all know what popular TV show known for raising questions and then never giving answers was filmed there? LOST that right! So of course I had to go find the beach on which it was filmed and get some of the sand for my friend Alex, who is like a preacher of the Lost Gospel at school (really he’s converted quite a number og us). I looked up the locale on teh internets and found out that it was filmed on Mokule’ia Beach in northern Oahu. I should have looked at Lostpedia though because that tells you exactly where. So my family and I headed out in search of the Losties’ beach. Well we got to Mokule’ia Beach Park and to my dismay it didn’t really look right. So we tried further down. Nope still not right. So we went into a town nearby to ask for directions. We found a woman who told us that in fact we were in the right area and that the Nigeria scenes were actually filmed in the town (likely in the nearby, empty, field). So, I decided that even if I couldn’t find the exact stretch of sand, some was better than none. We went back out and found a nice bit and I got myself a nice quart-sized ziploc bag of sand. I wasn’t sure it would make it through security even though it was in my checked baggage, but I hoped. It made it; even though it was in a bag that also contained a rifle shell that my dad found, and a swiss army rip-off. I decided that as opposed to giving the entire bag to Alex, I’d hand it out to all of my friends who are into Lost. The one thing left to do was to get something to put the sand in. Yesterday after work I went over to Palace Arts to see if they had any vials…they didn’t. As my dad was driving down Pacific Avenue, I was trying to think of where I could get some vials. The only place I could think of was Bead It. What the hell, right? So I go in and go over to where they have bags and boxes. Lo and behold! I found the perfect vials! So I bought 8 for $1.74 and emerged victorious. I printed up some labels and now they’re good to go. Here they are:

Of course, I still have at least 3/4 of a quart of sand left. Maybe I can sell it on Ebay. Also, the other night I looked on Lostpedia to see exactly where Lost was shot and I was pretty damn close, in fact I don’t doubt that I walked on sand that Jack and Locke set foot on as well. Some of the pictures in the virtual tour look rather familiar. however, I think I got even closer the first time we went to Hawaii. One day we went out all the way to that point. So, probably passed right by where it was filmed. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures because it didn’t look right, oh well. If you go through the virtual tour on Lostpedia’s Mokule’ia page, you might see a no trespassing sign, I’m pretty sure I saw those signs. Tomorrow’s the first day of my Junior year; I’m gonna wear my Indie hat and hand out my sand.
My dad went to Texas the other day for…something. Anyway, he brought me back two things. The first thing is a blue, glass turtle; nothing super amazing. However, the second caught me completely by surprise. Last night when he got home, he gave me the turtle and said there was something else for me one the table downstairs. I was watching TV and didn’t really feel like getting up and going downstairs. Today I got up, took a shower, and sat down in front of my computer (never had breakfast or lunch), so it wasn’t until I went down to do the chores my mom assigned me that I noticed a large box at my place. The tag sticking out had some stuff written on it, but what caught my attention was “21/2 Brim.” So, I thought, “why did he buy me a hat?” I opened the box and to my surprise I found this inside:
Also, I’ve been working on my Asteroids game and it’s coming along rather nicely. Here’s what it looks like at the moment. It’s still a work in progress. Here are the controls:
Movement:
forward – w
backward – s
strafe right – d
strafe left – a
brake – space
Steering:
up – down arrow (inverted axis)
down – up arrow
left – left arrow
right – right arrow
Other:

Well I think that’s everything. I hope to write some more of my story at some point. I have a bunch of ideas, though I’m lazy so…
Wow…the season finale of Lost was waaaaaaaaaay better than Heroes…unbefuckingleivably so.
So Winter break started today. I wanted to spend the day playing Halo, but I had to go Commercial Holiday shopping. I spent most of the afternoon trying to figure out what to get two of my friends. It would have been easier had I not been on a budget. After getting home I sat in front of the TV and fried my brain for a while. Then around, oh I don’t know, 9:30-10:00 I started working on changing a few things on the site. I fixed the “Flash Stuff” page; it no longer barrages you with loud, obnoctious noises. It now has images and links to the movies. I also made Jar Player shinier and made it so I can embed specific movies in a web page, like this:
I truely hate WOW (World of Warcraft). I hate it because: A) My gamer friends are more interested in reaching level 60 than playing a multi-player FPS (First Person Shooter), which are about as pointless as WOW but a lot more exciting. And B) I can’t escape it anywhere; school, work (of couse I work in a gaming cafe so that’s a given), and most recently TV. Last night I was watching an episode of Stargate last night (which I admit is a pretty nerdy show), in which in an attept to distract a scientist, one of the main characters starts talking to him about WOW. I FUCKING HATE WOW! Wow (no pun intended) that ended up being a longer post that I thought it would be.
