And in Case She didn’t Hear it Enough Already

Happy Birthday Mariko!! Didn’t I write that plugin so I didn’t have to do this? Oh well. Also, I’ll be 17 as well in 17.65 days.

Teh Fragmat

Friday, February 15th, 2008

First, yes that was intentional. Here’s the Fragmat. It’s big. That’s my mouse on the right and my lappy on the left. Unfortunately, my mouse doesn’t work well with it, so I may just mount it on my wall.

In other news, I may actually get my new computer soon…I hope…

Mousepad

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

Back in, oh, December, my friend Will was visiting from Canada. Before he came he had offered to buy me Unreal Tournament 3 (he really likes to spend his parent’s money on his friends), I however feel guilty accepting these presents so I said no. Then, a few days before he left he called to tell me that he had something for me, but I couldn’t go get it because I was busy that week. So, he gave it to his friend, that goes to my school, to give to me and told me that it was a mousepad. My thought was, “huh, why a mousepad,” the only thing I could think of was that it might be Half-Life themed. I talked to the guy he had given it to, who apparently knew nothing about it. A few days later he came to me and said that he did in fact have it, but not with him. He then forgot to bring it for a while. That is, until today. Guess what…I was right. It’s a fucking huge-ass Half-Life 2 themed mousepad or “Fragmat” as it is titled. This thing is bigger than my screen, which I suppose is good for gaming because it means you have more surface for looking around. In short, it’s fucking sweet, thanks Will.

Birthdays Suck

Friday, January 18th, 2008

Not really, but writing a plugin to display them on the correct days does. I just spent most of the day and morning working on this thing. Pretty much I can add names and birthdays to the database and then a box appears up at the top of my blog when one of those birthdays occurs. If it’s still before the 22nd then you will be seeing said box above this post right now. Now I just have to ask if my friends are ok with having their first name or nickname, their age, and birthday plastered on the internet, I assume they won’t mind since it doesn’t really tell much about them, other than, obviously, their age. I got stuck for a long time trying to get the stuff showing up on the correct days and displaying the right time, when I fixed one thing the other broke and I spent a good while trying to figure out what I had done. Of course it was one of those stupid errors that you don’t see because you thinks it’s right, but it’s not. Turns out I was trying to shove a month in the form of a string into a parameter that wanted a month as an int. I’m too tired to do any more.

Coheed at the Warfield

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

In a word: Awesome! In two: Fucking Awesome! Yesterday, my friends Alex, Trung, and I went to see the Coheed and Cambria concert at the SF Warfield. It was my first concert and it looked to be pretty awesome. Except, it started off a little shaky because as we got to where we were going, I realized that I had to piss. Unfortunately, the doors didn’t open for another half-hour. So, I was stuck in line trying my best to stay in control. I made it. After a trip to the men’s, we got in line to buy merch, I decided to get a T-shirt with a big blue dragonfly (which we later discovered to be some sort of robot/space ship) with tour dates on the back. Alex got an awesome (though over-priced) Keywork belt buckle

Keywork

Trung was going to get a hot pink shir t(I forget what was on it). So, Alex got his buckle and Trung and I got our shirts. I put mine on over my shirt, little tight, but then that’s cause I was wearing two shirts. Trung put his on and it was too small. Now, my first thought was that it looks like he got a girls shirt because not only is it hot pink, but it also looks like it’s got that curved inward at the middle shape you sometimes see…on girls. Trung insisted it was just too small, so he exchanged it for a large. This too was too small. We decided that it was in fact a girl’s shirt. So he exchanged it again for a different style. Too small, exchanged for a large. Still too small; the tag has the word “girl” on it. Then he exchanged it for a large of a different shirt. Now, it was too big. So he got a medium and finally he was satisfied…Trung fails. The opening band (Fall of Troy) was okay. The music itself was good, but the lyrics were pretty much the singer screaming shit into the mic. Also, at one point the singer hawked a giant loogy, spit it up in the air and then caught it in his mouth…definitely could have gone without seeing that; at another point he started spitting into his hand and I was afraid he was going to throw it at the audience, but instead he just threw it on stage. Unfortunately, a mosh pit opened up right next to where we were standing, so I spent most of the first set with my right arm up for protection. The second band was good as well. The members all appeared to be in their late 30′s/early 40′s and they played a southernish rock (with much better vocals). [I just spaced out for about, oh, an hour] Again, a mosh pit broke out near us, which wasn’t really that fun. Finally, after what seemed like forever, the back curtain went up to reveal a little city (Jersey maybe?). At that moment, the audience on the floor turned to a can of sardines and remained so for the rest of the show; the one good thing was that it made it harder to fall over. But man, Coheed was fucking awesome, opened with “No World for Tomorrow” and played “Welcome Home” and “The Final Cut” as an encore.

Best parts: Claudio “shooting” us with his guitar, Claudio playing behind his head, Claudio playing with his tongue (I assume hi tongue, couldn’t really see), and the 5 minute (at least) drum solo during “The Final Cut.” SO…FUCKING…AWESOME!

Coheed and Cambria!

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

It’s finally here! Tomorrow, my friends Alex, Trung, and I are going to see Coheed and Cambria at the Warfield in SF. It’s gonna be friggin awesome! Today, Trung printed out the lyrics for every song by the band, so that he could memorize them tonight. Hopefully we won’t get our asses kicked by some hardcore rockers. Oh yeah, this is also my first concert. Apparently tomorrow we’re going to get jacked up on sugar before we leave…for no apparent reason.

Boat

Went out on a big boat (yacht) with a bunch of friends today. It was fun.

Halloween 2007 (Take 4)

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

Yeah, I’m really getting PISSED now. Anyway:

So the Halloween dance was last week. My class hosted it and we raked in $ 1100. It wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t great could have been better…was going to be better…grr. I managed to get Bohemian Rhapsody played even though Aza (who was running the music) was being a little bitch, not that that’s unusual. My friend was sick and I think I caught whatever she had just from proximity. So, I was sick on Halloween, but like hell I was going to let that stop me. I went to the party that’s held by my classmate every year. A lot of people cam drunk and were either being jackasses, idiots, or both. Some were just loud and obnoxious and others felt the need to body surf down the stairs…repeatedly…at the same time. They also managed to tip the bathtub. Overall it was pretty funny, but this is my reasoning for having no desire to drink because I don’t really feel like making a complete fool of myself.

Oh yeah, can’t forget this:

I’m Indiana Jones Bitch!
